Marcello Barbato is an Italian Environmental Engineer and Founder & CEO of Green Renewable Energy Consulting, with more than 20 years of international experience developing biogas and biomethane projects across Europe and Asia. Throughout his career he has supported developers, investors and technology providers in delivering technically robust, financially bankable renewable energy projects in India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Europe, covering the entire project lifecycle from feasibility studies to commissioning.

Biogas design, development, and commercialisation
Marcello began his career in Europe, where he specialised in the design, development, and commercialisation of biogas projects — building deep technical expertise across the full project lifecycle.

International business development & project management
In 2013, Marcello moved to Asia, taking on leadership roles in international business development and project management. He contributed to the rapid growth of renewable energy initiatives across Southeast and South Asia.

Marcello founded Green Renewable Energy Consulting Ltd. with the mission of providing strategic guidance, technical expertise, and financial structuring to accelerate biogas and CBG development in emerging markets.
